Ever felt alone with the difficult transitioning of your aging parents? Well, having come from two wonderful parents, and having many sisters, I thought things would be easy. Well, what a huge disappointment, and a wide awakening I received when time came to look after them. It started out when my mother lost her sister back home in trinidad in the west indies, and she had taken it so badly, that in turn she too became withdrawn, and everything changed. The footsteps became smaller, the walking more fragile, almost as if she wanted so much attention, that she created this evytime one of the kids were around.
Time passed, and things got worse. My two other siblings that lived near by always seemed to have too much to do, and never helped with anything. After a few years of dealing with my parents, I moved them into my home and have been looking after them since. I am amazed till this day what I have embraced, and the knowledge that I am alone in this situation, and have been told by so many that I am not alone.
